The 3-day break is over and time to refocus on the new puzzles presented this week at Hollywood Park.
For Thursday, I find 5 of the eight races quite playable, the third and fifth thru eighth, each appear to present adequate opportunity to turn a profit.
Wager selection is so important. I'm frequently ask, why I use one trifecta format versus another trifecta format in different races. The simple answer is to try and use the most cost efficient play which fits the runners and the expected finish. The following paragraph will help explain:
In the third, sixth, and eighth our 3 Top Picks in each carry good enough odds and enough separation from the rest of the pack to play our Top Picks in the Win and Place positions over "All" in the show position for our trifecta plays. Trifectas in the 5th and 7th, we have long shots to use on Top, so we'll use the familiar 5-3-5 format ($36 Play) and the 3-4-5 format ($27 Play) as each seem to fit an expected outcome in a more appropriate and cost efficient manner.
Good luck on Thursday as we kick off our 4 day racing week and anytime you're At The Track!
