I rate the Friday card at Santa Anita about a 6 on a scale of 1 -10. The best wagering opportunities look like the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Here's why:
Race Three: Looks like an excellent race to make a small 4-horse Trifecta Box ($24 Play). Although the 2 fav's will likely go off at low odds, we have two others which can contend and each will be 8:1 or more. This race will be today's BalWaL.
Race Four: There is little separation between the Top Five contenders and one of them will be a bomb at 15:1 or more. We'll use all five horses in a 5-3-5 ($36 Play) combination Trifecta.
Race Five: The five horses we expect to contend for the money carry respectable prices (two of them will be 8:1 or more). This race also includes our FREE FRIDAY LONG SHOT..........#5 Hawaiian Afleet with Bejarano in the irons may just make the difference.
Race Six: A good wagering race because I think #8 Slew's copy, the 2:1 fav will not win and we have a good chance to have a double digit winner on top. You won't win enough to here to take a vacation, but may add a few "Franklin's" to build up your Derby bankroll.
For Best Bets we'll also have the early P4 which will include 4 long shot selections and a pick three covering races 5-6-7.
