I always look forward to the Wednesday card which starts our new week at Santa Anita. It's a curious thing, these 8-race weekday cards. Often it's a "burn the midnight oil" trying to scratch out enough value to make a worthy wager. Then there are times, when the horses you like carry some very nice odds. Such is the case for this Wednesday.........it's a definite "Play Day".
Here's why I like it:
#1- Great day for the Place Pick All (PPA), which is always one of my favorite plays and I especially like it when I can easily put a couple long shots into the 8-race play.
#2 - I come up with 12 long shots over the 8-race card, which make my trifecta and P3 plays well worth the trip.
#3 - The P3 BalWaL play is only $18 to play and 5 of the 8 horses used over the 3 race sequence are 8:1 or more.
