Place Pick All Strategies

Advisory

Wednesday starts a new week at Santa Anita.  Said before, one of my very favorite plays is the weekday Place Pick All (PPA).  A few reasons why:

- It's one heck of a lot easier to hit the weekday 8-Race cards than the weekend when you've got 9 to 11 races.

- Weekday races tend to be less contentious, thus it's easier to isolate the singles.

- It's a one dollar bet versus $2 for the Pick Six, which enables you to use that good price horse you like, along with the one which should win (or place) and still have a low cost ticket. Also the $1 increment makes it affordable to "all" a leg or sometimes two, which guaranties not one but 2 winners in those "all" legs giving you multiple tickets splits.

For the PPA players on Wednesday, I like "Alling" the first (6-horse field) and the 7th (seven horse field but very wide open).  If you can isolate singles in the other 6 races to run either first or second, you'll win the PPA 4 times with the splits and your total PPA ticket price is $42.

First Post at Santa Anita is 1:00pm PST on Wednesday.
